Helping Hands is a ministry of service for Good Shepherd parishioners. Help comes in many forms. Some examples include:
- a ride to the doctor
- a meal or two after surgery
- small household repairs
- errands to the drugstore or grocery
- an occasional ride to church
Helping Hands is NOT:
a cleaning service
a regular job
open to the larger community at this time
anything requiring a purchase

Service of Taizé

A holy and intimate candlelight Good Friday service with simple Taizé songs and the veneration of the cross. Taizé is a form of Christian prayer from the ecumenical Christian community of Taizé in France. Livestream will post here about 15 minutes prior to service time.

This service commemorates Jesus' last supper with the disciples and concludes with a powerful foot-washing ritual. The service ends with stripping of the altar and leaving the church in silent darkness. Livestream will post here about 15 minutes prior to service time.

Songs of Advent, Songs of Scripture
Three Wednesdays in December at 11:00am

Join us as we read, mark, and inwardly digest the songs of Scripture that tell the story of Christmas. Many of the canticles used in Morning and Evening Prayer and other liturgies of the church come straight from the opening pages of the gospels. The Magnificat: Luke 1:46-55. The Benedictus: Luke 1:68-79. The Nunc Dimittis: Luke 2:29-32. Even the songs of the angels! What might these songs tell us not only about this season, but about God’s work in the world around us today?
Hallowed Hikes
Join us on the second Saturday of each month for an informal walk through the beauty of nature culminating with an abbreviated Eucharist right there along the path. Each month features a different environmental habitat and time of the day. All are welcome! Invite your friends!

Meet at the boardwalk entrance in the parking lot
Grassy Waters Preserve, resembling the Florida Everglades, protects a sheet flow of rainfall moving southward along the coast. Once part of the River of Grass, it now serves as a 20-square-mile drinking water supply for West Palm Beach.
The nature center and boardwalk offer easy public access from Northlake Blvd. Home to every South Florida wetland creature from alligators to wading birds, there are plenty of photo opportunities.
Our hike, with stops along the way for prayer, poetry, and reflection, will take about an hour and the path is completely wheel chair and stroller accessible. Bring a hat, binoculars and a bottle of water. Restrooms are available and there is an air-conditioned nature center to peruse after the walk. As always, friends are more than welcome! Meet in the parking lot entrance at 8:30 am.
